Generational Wealth: A Workshop with Lianne Hannaway
Host: Lianne Hannaway
When: Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 12-1pm MT
Where: Zoom
Cost: FREE for Financial Feminist Members; $10 for non-members
The51 has teamed up with Lianne Hannaway to bring you a unique workshop designed for you to explore the topic of generational wealth through gendered and racial lenses.
As a quick definition: generational wealth is wealth passed down, say from grandparents, to parents, to grandkids.
The thing is: how do you build generational wealth and how do different circumstances influence how one builds wealth (e.g. growing up in an immigrant household vs. growing up in a marginalized community vs. growing up with generational wealth)?
Led by Lianne Hannaway, host of the No Boss of Me podcast, this interactive workshop will provide context and strategies for women to build generational wealth. The workshop will use a specific lens, highlighting how underrepresented women can build generational wealth by addressing their relationship (and perhaps trauma) with money.
During this workshop, you will learn the following:
What is generational wealth and why it's important
Differences between rich and wealthy
Strategies to build wealth
How angel investors can build generational wealth together with marginalized communities
Whether you're a first-generation wealth builder or an experienced investor, you'll leave with a better understanding of generational wealth's role in social and economic outcomes as well as valuable insights and tools for building and preserving generational wealth together.
