Joanne Bourgault

Investor & advocate for women's financial independence

For Joanne Bourgault, supporting women-led businesses and community organizations is rooted in the belief that financial independence creates freedom and ability to choose.

Raised in rural Saskatchewan, Joanne grew up in an entrepreneurial family, which gave her an appreciation for the impact business can have on families and entire communities. It also shaped her awareness of how often women’s contributions are expected rather than fully recognized, informing her commitment to women’s economic opportunity today.

After beginning her career in accounting, Joanne returned to university with two young children at home to pursue dentistry. While building her own career, she experienced firsthand some of the challenges that still exist for women working in traditionally male-dominated spaces, further shaping the values that guide her.

Now retired from dentistry, Joanne supports organizations focused on women’s health and 2SLBGTQIA+ communities, while also investing in initiatives that expand access to capital and opportunity.
